Blaster master zero walkthrough area 91/16/2024 Sophia Zero fires empowered Cannon Shots instantly with no on-screen maximum, a doubled blast diameter (16 tiles), and no knockback or self-damage from being caught in the explosion, making them an effective (if expensive and still hampered by lack of vertical reach) area-denial ordnance. The sheer recoil of firing a Cannon Shot helps with this somewhat, pushing SOPHIA back 2 blocks if fired from a stationary position or 1 block if fired in motion. Regardless of whether the Crusher Shot chip is installed, care must be taken to land Cannon Shots a decent distance away from SOPHIA III, as it will take 2 notches of damage if caught in the blast itself. If the Crusher Shot chip is also installed, Cannon Shot's explosion will break blocks within its blast area. Crusher Shot: 10:3 damage ratio (direct) 2:1 damage ratio (indirect).Hyper Shot: 9:2 image ratio (direct) 5:2 damage ratio (indirect).Damage per direct hit is equivalent to the shooting power of the main cannon + 7 Normal Shots damage per indirect hit is equivalent to the shooting power of the main cannon + 3 Normal Shots/1 Crusher Shot: As this shell has a larger terrain hitbox than other cannon shots, it can only be fired through openings which are at least 2 blocks wide.Ĭannon Shots explode on impact in a roughly 8-tile diameter area, breaking red stars and damaging both direct targets (those hit by both the shell and the explosion) and enemies caught in the blast based on main cannon power. Once the Shoot Button is released, 1 SP is consumed to fire a shell that follows a ballistic trajectory, arcing toward where the cursor was pointing. When held for at least ~1.2 seconds, a green reticle appears at the projected impact point, with location depending on SOPHIA's cannon angle and the surrounding terrain. Like its predecessors, Cannon Shot merely fires basic cannon blasts when the Shoot button is tapped. (In Destroyer Mode, it is instead acquired from the " Cell Rejection" enemy rush room in Area 8.) It is gained in Area 6 after clearing out the " Peeper's Den" enemy rush room. Note the ballistic travel angle impossible with SOPHIA III's other munitions.Ĭannon Shot is an alternate charge shot for SOPHIA III's main cannon in Blaster Master Zero. ”Ī Cannon Shot in flight just outside the dungeon in which it is acquired. Hold the Shoot button to charge it, then release to fire. Since speedrunners will often like to cut out as much RNG as they can from the run, it means that in a lot of cases, they'll prefer the set path through the Sophia Force instead, which can just as easily be bypassed if you know what you're doing (and consistently at that since there's no random elements at play).A shell that makes a large explosion on impact. It's no bug - it's extensive research into the triggers for this ending, which are definitely a little more convoluted than the past two titles, that's for certain.Īlso, I will say that for SF Dungeons, the VRV only works better for those who are able to brave its semi-random nature as there aren't too many screens in which you are locked in and rushed by enemies, and you're free to just bypass the enemies otherwise. According to them, you need to have travelled through 290 screens of super-dimensional space total to gain the two rings and be able to trigger the true ending, though they also state that they don't know if backtracking through spaces of SDS you've already been to also counts or not. They haven't actually done a run doing exactly this yet, but in terms of getting every single item but still being forced into the the normal ending, apparently you go through 214 screens (map squares, I think?) of SDS at minimum. Well, I just got word back from the guy who was researching this. I guess I find it silly cause the VRV for the sf areas is designed for those having a hard time dealing with the SF areas with tougher guards. If it's speedrunning, it could a bug that prevents the ending from being unlocked.
